Chairs, Chairs, Chairs: 200 Years of American Design is a proposal for an exhibition at the museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The exhibit showcases 200 years of American chair design from the 1800s to present day. The exhibition features famous chairs like Frank Lloyd Wright’s Johnson Wax Company Chair, but also lesser known chairs like Vivian Beer’s Current. The chairs are suspended in front of curved Molo walls, textured and moveable paper walls, so that visitors can more easily see the entirety of each chair.
